About simaec.net
simaec.net shows how a website is built, from creating the content to publishing it on a public site, and keeps that path open for other projects.
Mission and Vision
The mission is to give a clear account of how websites are built, from the writing of the content to its publication.
The vision is a platform for people who want to follow that account and apply it to projects of their own.
About the Creator
simaec.net is privately owned by Karl-Heinz Müller. He has developed websites for over 30 years, working with numerous clients across a range of industries. The work has centred on the travel industry, and more recently on publishing about wildlife, ecology, and nature.
Over those years he developed and maintained a proprietary content management system. It began with an IIS/ASP/MS-SQL stack, moved to IIS/ASP.NET/MS-SQL, and then to Apache/PHP/MySQL. QPages is the current form of that system. It includes a backend for editing and maintaining the content, the application that renders the pages, and the connection to the host.
